I bought a bottle of this years ago for the more traditional purpose and used it in conjunction with an OTC cream and then for awhile to prevent re-infection, and I was very satisfied with the product. I recently found about a dozen tablets left in the bottle, about to expire. I began taking one a day, just to use them up, as a preventative measure even though I hadn't had a vaginal yeast infection in years. Lo and behold, my feet stopped itching, and the skin began looking better. I assumed my butenafine hydrochloride cream had started to work. A dozen days passed, I finished up the pills, and then my athlete's foot returned! Arrgh! But I made the connection, did a little research, and discovered that athlete's foot can indeed by caused by a yeast fungus rather than a dermatophyte, and in that case, the OTC creams won't work.
