Cystex helps to relieve the pain and burning associated with a urinary tract infection while also inhibiting the progression of the infection with an antibacterial. It combines a pain-fighting analgesic, sodium salicylate, with an effective antibacterial agent, methenamine, to help stop the pain and progression of a urinary tract infection. Additionally, Cystex will not change the color of the urine. Not only is Cystex used to help treat the pain, burning and progression of an existing urinary tract infection, but some doctors believe it can also be an excellent preventative therapy for those who suffer from recurring urinary tract infections. Cystex is not meant to replace the care of a doctor, since urinary tract infections require prescription medication to completely cure the infection.

It works fast at numbing the discomfort, and as long as the UTI is in it's early stages, will knock it out of your system. I have avoided the need for a Dr's appointment with this stuff. I have been to a doctor and don't have kidney or bladder issues and he says if this helps keep it up!!! Azo cranberry is great as a preventative measure, and that is what I use to prevent infections. But when I stop taking it for a long time, and get a UTI, Azo's pain reliever does not relieve the pain as quickly as Cystex does. It works really really fast! I cant remember exactly how long it took, but it was definately somewhere around 20 minutes. |
